Senate Reception at Hamburg City Hall
The official welcome to Hamburg, Germany at the incredible Rathaus where we were greeted by city officials and Zonta International President Sharon Langenbeck before enjoying a networking reception. City Hall serves as the domicile of the Parliament Senate in the Federal State of Hamburg, one of Germany’s 16 state parliaments. Constructed from 1886 to 1897, this jewel of neo-Renaissance architecture is filled with delights. The City Hall has 647 rooms. We visited the most stunning of them all and had access to the balcony overlooking the Rathausmarkt Plaza. Also, not to be missed, was the courtyard in the center resembles an Italian piazza and houses the Hygieia-fountain, named after the Greek goddess of health and built in remembrance of the cholera epidemic that swept through the city in 1892.

Dine Around with Hamburg Zontians
This event was a unique opportunity to enjoy an intimate dinner experience in the homes of Hamburg Zontians, where we discovered German hospitality and Zonta spirit while meeting other Zontians.|Our hosts provided dinner, drinks and warm conversation. The number of dinner participants per home was from 4 to 20 Zontians.

Great Girls Meet Great Women
Zonta International is pleased to introduce a brand-new cross-mentoring program that helps participants develop future mindset attitudes and skills, connectedness, ideas, and solutions for concrete professional and/or private challenges. This pilot was launched at the convention with 50 Young Professionals, Golden Z Club members, and awardees, and 50 Zontians – from diverse cultural, social, and professional backgrounds and of different generations from all 6 member continents. District 1 is well represented in this program:  ZFW Development Committee Chairman Mary Ann Rubis and Governor Donna Sroka were selected as mentors. Golden Z and Alumnae Convention Program

Zonta International welcomed Golden Z members and past recipients of Zonta International’s fellowships, scholarships and awards to the 65th Zonta International Convention. The first-ever program included tailored workshops, networking, social events, and opportunities to engage with Zonta members through the main convention program. We were pleased to learn also about Zonta Awardees Connected (ZAC) – an international network within Zonta connecting all awardees. ZAC benefits include exchanging ideas and receiving career support, getting to know impressive young women from all over the world, opportunities to learn and share, and so much more. Awardees can join for free by contacting ZACcommittee@gmail.com.
